I started with Greenpeace nine years ago as a volunteer on the Greenpeace Argentina action team, and have been working on ships for four years now. Before working for Greenpeace I worked behind the scenes in the film industry.

My favourite action: the 1999 campaign to protest shipments of weapons useable nuclear material from Europe to Japan. We had followed a shipment for days, through a typhoon and into a swarm of police. We did not want to stop or board the shipment, but only wanted to get close enough with our banner for a good picture - so that the world would hear about this shipment. We had two inflatable boats, and there were maybe 50 police boats trying to stop us. After a long chase, we got to the shipment and did our job.

There will be more of these very dangerous shipments, but when enough people know about them then maybe they can be stopped.
