China and cars
by Ann Novek on 02 March 2005 @ 06:00 AM

The Chinese car market is the fastest growing in the world.

What will happen when the number of cars rise in China from today's 20 million to 120 million in 2020?

And by 2030 China will emitt more greenhouse gases than the US.

Ann

Well, you can help to the planet. Do not drive a car if you have one. So at least it will be one car less. Also refuse to buy all of the products from big companies wich mostly harm the nature. At least so much you and all of us can do.

"what to do?"

Ask the Chinese to read what Enviroman has to say about taking public transport. Ask them to read that post about "Enviroman on Transport"
http://enviromansays.blogspot.com/2005/02/enviroman-on-transport.html

BTW if any of you have accurate statistics on greenhouse gas emission, hope you will post them as someone had requested for statistic to back up a statement that "private vehicles is a major contributor..."

Also, someone had asked for statistics to show that the US is the biggest contributor of greenhouse gases. Where can I get authorative data on this?
