Bangladeshi Rivers are dying to create major environmental hazard
by Miraz on 20 July 2002 @ 06:52 AM
All the major rivers of Bangladesh including Buriganga, Jamuna, Padma and Karnaphuli are in a great threat. The rivers are dying. The terrorists are occupying the rivers and setting many buildings and shops. The water of the rivers are so polluted by industrial wastes that in some places fishes cannot live. The dead fishes float over the surface of the river. The nvironmental activists including SHEBA and BAPA are trying to solve the crisis through several procession and rallys. But the occupation and pollution is not yet stopped. We have shortage of funds to demonstrate regularly and take strong steps to stop the pollution and occupation. The situation is worsening day by day. Now some international pressure is needed. Can we do something to protect the rivers and environment of Bangladesh.
