The closest to this I've seen is the Worldwatch Institute's Vital Signs annual report at:
http://www.worldwatch.org/pubs/vs/vs01/VSfact.html
These reports are in turn largely based on UN reports.
I think a web-based interface for these stats is a great idea. Maybe you could suggest it to them.

I think that more details should be included such as, energy saving water consumption reduction clean energy production ect.
If you can somehow read italian, i'd like you to read this link http://www.jacopofo.it/jacopofo/ecologia/ecologiasubito.html It's a web site held by the son of the Nobel prize Dario Fo (literature), there is a list of "tricks" that any of us can start from now to use in order to save energy or water ect..

Energy Conservation - Cooking Rice
by listenin on 09 May 2002 @ 04:29 PM

Instead of boiling rice for 40 - 45 minutes, I cook it with a total of about 10 - 15 minutes of fuel consumption. Try this :
Put your water and rice in the pot. Bring the water to a boil, about 2 - 5 minutes. Shut off the heat. Let the rice/water sit on the burner for about an hour, until it cools down some. Or you can leave it for up to a whole day.
You will find that the rice is almost entirely cooked.
Finish cooking , about 5 - 15 minutes. The amount of rice being cooked, the type of rice, the type of pot and the type of stove being used are all variables that prevent me from being more accurate about how long it might take for you.
I think this method of cooking is likely not very popular because using stoves with heat dials that one can simply turn on and off the heat is a relatively new thing.
But
It works.
I've found that this method not only cuts the cooking time to about 1/4 of more popular methods, but it also seems to better preserve the flavor of the rice, a quality that I like, too.
Total cooking time : ~ 7 - 20 minutes. Fuel consumption saved : about 1/2 hour.
It works for other seeds and grains, too.
Try it and let us know what you think.

Hi
Here are a few tests that are a funny way to try to measure environmental impact. What is not funny is that if everyone lived my lifestyle, we would need about 2.8 planets to support the human population.

a Greenpeace icon/watcher running all the time?
by Anonymous on 11 May 2002 @ 02:25 PM

"What is the feasibility of allowing a truly committed volunteer to set up a reporting device like this?"
Low. Most of the problem is standardization and agreement on how to measure. That makes it very hard for a volunteer to do, as they won't always have the organizational clout of a staffer working on a funded project.
"It would tie all the green metrics together in the form of an cockpit style instrument panel, and once could drill into the sources."
It would be nice to have a Greenpeace icon on the bottom right Windows bar, running all the time to tell me something about the products I'm shopping for and the companies I'm considering buying from (which it can see in my web browser, if I let it).
