Urgent: Support the activists
The activists working on the ground, both local community activists and the Greenpeace team, are facing increasing safety risks. We need your help to strengthen the support of Brazil's federal government for the safety of the activists and government workers.
More and act
1. Send
an Email
The communities near Porto de Moz just south of the Amazon river are fighting to hold on to their forest homes and the simple living they make from fishing, small scale hunting, subsistence agriculture and from the few forest products they can sell or extract. Send a letter to the federal and state governments in support of their call for an extractive reserve.
You can also help support the protection of indigenous lands in the Amazon.
2. Become
a Forest Guardian
Take part in projects to save the ancient forests. Choose your role, choose how to you want to get involved, all are welcome.
3. Send
an E-card
Help spread the word about the Amazon by sending Amazon
e-cards to friends and family. Send
a jaguar e-card or send
a Deni e-card .
4. Buy
FSC
The
only way for you to be certain that you are not buying
wood and wood products that come from illegal logging
or forest destruction is to buy products certified
by the Forest Stewardship Council. The FSC is the
only international, independent organisation that
certifies forest operations managed in a socially
equitable and ecologically sound way.
